1. Does the patch4holes really holds up in the wash?

Yes! Once properly heat-sealed, our fabric iron on patches are machine-washable. To make them last longer, wash at 30°C and avoid the dryer.

2. What size holes can be repaired?

Our "Patch4Holes" iron on patches for repair are designed to mend small everyday life accidents! They are perfect for holes approximately 0.5 cm to 6 cm in diameter (depending on the design chosen).

For best results, we recommend choosing a patch slightly larger than the hole to fully cover the area and reinforce the fabric.

3. What types of clothing can I use my iron on cloth patches on?

If you're looking for iron on patches for jeans, we've got you! but not only… Our "Patch4holes" works very well on most fabrics that can withstand the heat of an iron, such as denim, cotton, corderoy or canvas to name but a few.

5. What shall I do if my iron on patch comes unstuck or is not fixed well?

Do not panic, it's easy to fix.

If your "Patch4Holes" isn’t properly secured or if an edge comes loose, simply iron over it again for a few seconds—the heat from the iron will activate the heat-activated adhesive. Once properly secured, the iron on patches "Patch4holes" are near impossible to remove.

6. Is there a risk that the patch will stick the two sides of the garment together??

No, there’s no risk with thick fabrics like denim: the material is dense enough to prevent the adhesive from seeping through the fabric.

For thinner fabrics, we simply recommend slipping a piece of parchment paper between the two sides of the garment during ironing to prevent any adhesive transfer.

1) Measure the size of the hole to be covered

The "Patch4holes" is ideal to repair small daily life clothes holes, snags and tears. It suits holes or tears between 0.5cm and 6cm diameter

Select a design slightly larger than the area that needs mending to fully cover the area and reinforce the fabric.

2) Iron on settings

Set your iron on cotton (2-3 points) and turn off the steam.

Preheat your iron thoroughly, as the iron’s temperature activates the Patch4Holes adhesive backing. The heat-activated adhesive must reach its melting point.

3) Preparing the fabric

Make sure the garment is iron-safe, clean, and dry.

Position your iron on patch Patch4holes flat on the area to be repaired, completely covering the tear. Place a piece of greaseprof (parchment) paper between the patch4holes and the iron.

4) Ironing on (8 seconds)

Apply the iron directly on the patch (no parchment or greaseproof paper is required).

Maintain for 8 seconds with an even and firm pressure without moving the iron. Then do a new pass on the edges to firm up the adhesion.

Remove the iron then let the patch cool down for a few seconds.

5) Check the fixing

Once the patch has cooled down, check the bonding by trying to gently lift a corner.

If an edge peels off, slightly increase the temperature and reapply for 5 seconds.

6) Durability

A patch properly fixed ensures ensures excellent resistance to washing and friction.
