2. Colour and cut-out the hearts

  • Let the kids imagination run wild to personalise each of the hearts: by colouring them, adding some patterns to truly personalise them.
  • Cut out each heart tidily with the scissors. Little ones might need some assistance with the scissors.

If there are several sibblings, each might want to personalise one or several hearts in order to all put them all on the same card.

  • A special, heart felt, sweet message can be written on each of the hearts. It’s entirely up to the children.
    Here are a few suggestions

    • “Love you to the moon and back”

    • “I love your cuddles”

    • “You are the best mama!”

Let your heart and love for your mama speak.

Once the hearts are decorated, it is now time to assemble the card.

4. Create the pop-up

  • Cut out the strip of paper situated to the right of the hearts.

  • Mark the 8 folds on the strip, following the lines indicated

5. Stick the hearts

  • Now, on one side of the folded strip, at the designed places, stick the hearts one by one.

  • Only apply glue at the top of the back of each heart so they can unfold when the card is opened.

6. Prepare the rest of the card

  • On the card part of the DIY “Happy Mother’s Day”, cut out two slits where you want to insert the hearts strip.

  • Glue the back of the pop-up heart strick in the designed spot.

  • Insert delicately the other end of the strip of paper.

7. Finalise and decorate the card

  • The card is now ready. Pull the tab and admire the pop-up effect: The hearts come to life with their sweet loving messages. !
